National prices, not your city's. Permits, soil tests, landscaping, waterproofing and drainage cost extra. Your contractor or engineer sets the number of piers. Based on HomeGuide, HomeAdvisor cost data, updated September 2026. See sources.

How each method is priced and what it fixes. Pier rows assume 6 piers. Other rows are one job of the size named.

Contractors price piers one at a time, so we multiply your pier count by the cost per pier. Slab jacking, crack injection and wall repairs are priced as one job of the size named in the list. If you add an engineer's report, we add $340–$780. Every figure comes from the sources below. We round to the nearest $100.
Your real price depends on your soil, your home's size and weight, and how deep the piers must go. Get at least three written quotes. Find foundation repair contractors in your city, or browse by type of repair.
HomeAdvisor puts the national average at $5,174, with most homeowners spending $2,225 to $8,133. Small jobs cost as little as $500, and large ones reach $16,000. HomeGuide says a settling or sinking foundation costs $4,500 to $20,000 to fix.
HomeAdvisor reports $1,000 to $3,000 per pier for piering or underpinning. Helical piers cost $2,000 to $4,000 per pier installed, and most people spend about $3,000 per pier (HomeGuide).
HomeGuide says a typical home foundation often needs 5 to 10 piers, spaced every 5 to 8 feet. The exact number depends on the size and weight of the house and the soil.
Crack repair costs $250 to $800 per crack, most often with an epoxy or polyurethane injection. HomeAdvisor says cracks wider than 1/8 inch are cause for concern and worth a structural engineer's opinion.
Usually, yes. HomeGuide puts mudjacking a foundation at $4,500 to $9,000, and HomeAdvisor lists slabjacking at $500 to $1,300. Polyjacking costs $8 to $25 per square foot. Piers cost $1,000 to $4,000 each, but they are the more permanent fix.
It helps. HomeAdvisor says a structural engineer's report costs $340 to $780, and the engineer has nothing to sell you. HomeGuide puts a full engineering report at $500 to $3,000.
